The usually reserved Joshua kick-started a war of words with Lewis by branding him a ‘clown’ in an interview released on Thursday morning.
Lewis replied on social media before AJ doubled down and stood firmly by his initial remarks.
This has prompted a few fans to begin speculation about who would win in a fantasy fight between the two UK heavyweights.
Ruiz Jr responded to the question: “Lennox all day.”
Lewis achieved the feat of becoming undisputed heavyweight champion during his historic career, while Joshua unified three belts before being stunned by the Mexican-American last time out.
