England won the fifth and final Ashes Test in Sydney by an innings and 83 runs to wrap up the series 3-1.
It is England’s first series win Down Under since the 1986-87 tour.
Australia started the day on 213-7, with England needing just three wickets to seal the victory. Steve Smith and Peter Siddle make it hard work for England though; the later finally slog sweeping Graeme Swann and getting caught in the deep for 43.
Jimmy Anderson then removed fellow fast-bowler Ben Hilfenhaus before Surrey’s Chris Tremlett wrapped up the game by removing Michael Beer, leaving Smith unbeaten on 54.
Wild celebrations followed with Andrew Strauss becoming only the third England captain to win the Ashes both home and away.
