Nottinghamshire dumped defending Twenty20 champions Sussex out of this year’s competition at the quarter-final stage on Monday night.
Notts had made only 141 for nine in front of nearly 9,000 spectators at Trent Bridge after being put in by Mike Yardy.
But the Sharks failed to fire with the bat and fell 13 runs short, with Darren Pattinson the pick of the Notts bowlers with figures of 3-17.
Earlier in the day, Hampshire secured a place in the finals day for the first time with a five-wicket win over Warwickshire.
Promising youngster James Vince steered Hampshire home with an unbeaten 66 off 52 balls to hand Warwickshire a sixth quarter-final T20 defeat in seven seasons.
The victory ensured Hampshire will be attending their own party at the Rose Bowl on August 14.
Somerset take on Northants in Taunton and Essex face Lancashire in Chelsmford to decide the other two semi-finalists on Tuesday.
