England bowler Stuart Broad has been charged by match referee Ranjan Madugalle for “throwing the ball inappropriately” at Pakistan’s Zulqarnian Haider.
The Nottinghamshire youngster threw a dead ball which hit the batsman on the shoulder. Haider had earlier survived a caught-behind appeal by England after they called for the decision to be reviewed.
Broad has been charged with a level-two offence which could have led to a one-Test ban if the offender has any previous indiscretions to their name. The England bowler has a exemplary disciplinary record and managed to escape with just a 50% reduction of his match fee.
