Middlesex director of cricket Angus Fraser has told talkSPORT he is doing everything he can to keep England star Eoin Morgan at Lord’s.
Morgan’s contract with Middlesex runs out this year and Warwickshire, Surrey and Sussex are all keen to land the Dublin-born batsman.
But Fraser has vowed to keep hold of the big-hitting left hander, who has seen his stock rise dramatically in the past 12 months by becoming a key man for England in all formats of the game.
“We’re doing everything we can at Middlesex to keep him there because we’re very proud to have produced an England cricketer and you want them representing your county when they come back,” Fraser told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“It’s our job to provide a soft landing when they fall and build them up and get them back there and I believe we have got the people at Middlesex to help cricketers when they do have a bad run of form with England and get them back up to the top.”
